The Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) is a diverse region, affected by economic and political transformations, but with a potential for much higher growth. It benefits from a privileged geographic location with access to large markets; a young and increasingly educated population; and comparative advantages in several sectors such as oil & gas, manufacturing, logistics, renewable energies and tourism.

The pandemic has exposed our supply chains causing higher risk of disruption in the near future. Global trade is in a free fall, WTO predicts 25% fall in world trade this year. This will have adverse impact on the logistics industry in the MENAT region. To build resilience in the logistics sector and also the economy in a larger context, firms will have to take up massive digital initiatives to create visibility and transparency and reduce cost. With the advent of Industry 5.0, the region has the ability to potentially turn into a fulcrum of world trade offering cheaper and safer multi-modal logistics alternatives.
