Kiev business forum on exports to the EU and USA, "Forbes"
Kiev, Ukraine - In March, the international law firm Integrites hosted the "Intensification of exports to the EU and USA" business forum in Kiev, Ukraine. The event gathered over 200 business owners, CEOs and CFOs of local and international companies, diplomats, representatives of leading financial organizations and authorities to discuss how to support Ukrainian businesses in entering EU and US markets. The event was organized by Integrites in partnership with fellow international law firms Eversheds (Germany), K&L Gates and Arnall Golden Gregory (USA), and with the support of the audit company Baker Tilly and the consulting firms Pedersen & Partners and SalesCapital AG.
Key topics of discussion were: state support of Ukrainian exports, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its role in entering new markets, the main import requirements and metrics for Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the USA, strategies for Ukrainian importers entering new EU markets, financing programs offered by European banks, and contractual requirements for risk insurance covering importers.
"Recently, Ukrainian companies have lost a number of their traditional markets in CIS countries. In addition, the capacity for consumption within the Ukrainian internal market has decreased significantly. As a result, Ukrainian companies are actively seeking new markets to enter and develop export sales. What steps to take, what markets, what mistakes to avoid – these are the questions that should be raised and answered at events like this one. As an international executive search firm, we are ideally positioned to support Ukrainian companies looking to enter new markets through cooperation with local top executives," stated Vladimir Kolomoets, Client Partner at Pedersen & Partners.
The business forum gave its participants the opportunity to build a virtual export office located within one of the European jurisdictions and to model the planned work and transactions, including pre-export financing.
